Hadith and Dua
“No fatigue, nor illness, nor pain, nor grief—not even the mental burden that weighs on a believer’s heart—afflicts them, except that Allah wipes away some of their sins because of it.”
(Sahih Muslim)
“Whatever hardship a Muslim goes through—whether physical exhaustion, illness, anxiety, sadness, emotional pain, or distress—even something as small as a thorn that pricks him—Allah uses it to erase some of his sins.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
O Allah, 1 seek refuge in you from griet and sadness, from weakness and from laziness, from miserliness and from cowardice, from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men (i.e. others)"
(Bukhari)
“O Allah, I am Your servant, the child of Your male servant, and the child of Your female servant. My destiny is in Your Hand, Your command over me is always carried out, Your decree for me is just. I ask You by every Name that is Yours— which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen— that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness, and the reliever of my anxiety and distress.”
(Hisn al-Muslim 120)
